The choice of coffee and espresso for enid grace cafe was a simple decision. Having lived in Turin, Italy for period of time I had the pleasure of enjoying Lavazza coffee on a daily basis. It became the coffee that I compared all others to. By chance, I became friends with a employee at the Lavazza headquarters in Torino. This friendship provided the opportunity to tour the operation, taste the range of blends, learn about the history of the brand, their practices and passion and most memorably meet a few members of the Lavazza family.
Lavazza is a large company but its a family company and a historic company; still owned and operated by the third and fourth generations. They are very proud of their coffee and of the merits of their company.
I of course appreciate the coffee itself; the flavour and the history of their unique blending. Equally so, I value the traditions that this long standing company respects as well as their ethics and consciousness of the their impact on a global scale, both human and environmental.
While preparing for the opening of the cafe I worked with my friend at Lavazza Italy as well as her counterpart here in Canada to select the best blends and roasts for enid grace cafe customers. These specific blends cannot be purchased in retail/grocery stores. They are created for cafe's specifically. I have selected the blends that I think my customers will most enjoy and appreciate. Whether its the perfect traditional Italian espresso, a french style cafe creme or the best cup of black drip; Lavazza won't disappoint.
